for this design i wanted something that drew in the reader and grabbed their attention, i thought that both of these pictures did this on their own, and both of them are from new mexico also. i added the logo for the NMDOT but faded it so it would not stand out too much, but would be more a reminder of what the picture is promoting. i really liked the balloon fiesta picture becase it captures two distinctly new mexican things, the balloons and the rio grande, and i think the blue color would stand out well in a magazine against the white background of the other pages. as for the other picture, i wanted something that showed a bit of the history of the state, and again stuck with the faded NMDOT logo. i think both adds do a good job of creating interest and giving an example of the product.
